Migration Path
If you are currently using Legacy S3-over-Swift or Legacy Swift, plan your migration to Ceph Object Storage:
- Create new credentials for Ceph Object Storage in your Infomaniak Manager
- Create buckets in Ceph Object Storage with Object Lock enabled if needed
- Migrate data using tools like
rcloneor AWS CLI sync - Update application endpoints from
s3.pub1.infomaniak.cloudtos3.gva2.infomaniak.cloud - Test your applications with the new endpoints
- Decommission legacy buckets after verification
Quick Decision Guide
Use Ceph Object Storage if: - You need native S3 API compatibility - You require Object Lock / WORM compliance - You want multipart upload support - You need public bucket access with bucket policies - You want the best performance - You are building a new application
Legacy solutions are still available but deprecated: - Legacy S3-over-Swift: Existing applications only (plan migration) - Legacy Swift: Existing applications only (plan migration)
