Images Management Documentation
This section provides a detailed guide to managing images in the Infomaniak Openstack Public Cloud. It covers standard images, custom images, image properties, and the process of sharing images between projects.
-
Infomaniak Openstack Public Cloud provides a set of predefined, regularly updated images for supported operating systems. These images are equipped with the latest security patches and operating system updates, ensuring they are secure and up-to-date.
-
In addition to the standard images provided, users have the flexibility to create their own custom images. While custom images offer more control, it is often recommended to use standard images when applicable for better compatibility and ease of use.
-
Each image can have associated properties, represented as key-value pairs, that provide additional information. These properties may include details such as the operating system type, recommended hypervisor, and other metadata relevant to the image's use.
-
Users can share images between different projects in the current OpenStack release. If an image has been uploaded to your active project, you can use the OpenStack
image add project
operation to share it with other projects, facilitating collaboration and resource utilization.
